Because cows are sacred in Nepal (and that's another whole story), the meat Nepalis eat is primarily water buffalo. Hence, the hide is a by product of meat production. Preparing the hide is a lengthy process, done completely by hand, using all local, natural, and organic materials. Then, they're designed and crafted by hand.
When I was choosing my bags, Ravi (my leather guy) referred to these as camera bags. At the time, I thought that was a bit dated, so I just looked at them as another small bag. Oddly enough, I've had several people ask me if I have a camera bag since then. It's a simple design with a wide bottom. Available with brown or black exterior stitching.
